About Jungfrau
The Jungfrau summit ascent and the approach to Mönchsjochhütte are different itineraries. Rail access does not replace the alpine climb.

Route questions, answered
Specific planning questions, with the scope of each source kept visible.
How do the Rottalsattel and northeast-ridge listings differ?
The German SAC overview lists the Rottalsattel/southeast ridge at ZS- and 4–5 hours, while the northeast ridge is S and 8–10 hours. These are distinct ascent itineraries. A starting point and full return plan still need confirmation from the detailed route description.
Does the Jungfrau overview give complete round-trip times?
No. Its time figures are labelled ascent. Some itineraries also include descent sections on the way up; this is not the same as the return from the summit. Do not use an ascent figure as the total duration of your outing.
Does the 45–75-minute hut approach reach Jungfrau's summit?
No. It reaches Mönchsjochhütte from Jungfraujoch. SAC separately lists the Rottalsattel summit ascent at 4–5 hours.
Why does the ascent listing include 370 metres downhill?
The listed summit itinerary includes uphill and downhill terrain. Those descent metres do not represent the full return from the summit.

Planning at a glance
Access and starting point
SAC lists a Jungfraujoch-to-Mönchsjochhütte approach separately from the Rottalsattel summit ascent.
Difficulty and required experience
The hut approach is L; the Rottalsattel listing is ZS-. These are SAC alpine overall grades in German notation.
Season and restrictions
The SAC hut calendar lists staffing March–October. Confirm actual opening and reservation; the calendar does not confirm summit conditions.

Research still needed
For Jungfrau, this atlas does not yet document first-ascent history. Missing first-ascent evidence does not mean a mountain is unclimbed.
Use the linked sources as starting points; summit coordinates do not describe a climbing route or public access.
