Sources and editorial responsibility

Climbing Chronicle Redaktion is the responsible editorial author and publisher of the atlas. Source research and summaries are AI-assisted. The atlas does not claim an on-site inspection, personal ascent of every mountain or professional approval of a climbing itinerary.

What a review date means

A planning source check applies only to the additions with individual citations. It records when the cited information was consulted, not when a mountain was visited or when a route was last safe. An earlier profile review, a geographic data snapshot and an automated context retrieval are separate dates. Missing review dates remain open.

Evidence before publication

Prefer park authorities, hut operators, alpine clubs, official weather services and local guide associations. State the original grading system and the particular route or programme it describes. Attribute first-hand trip reports to their authors and dates; a historic report does not establish current public access.

Country-based weather links are regional resources. They do not prove that a forecast covers the summit elevation or that a route is open. Hut opening dates and an operator’s advertised season do not establish day-by-day climbability.

Imported context and missing facts

Wikidata descriptions are imported as CC0 data, with a source and retrieval date. Wikipedia reading links discovered through Wikidata are not automatically checked as route evidence. The geographic overview assembled from elevation, location and range data is not an individual editorial mountain guide.

Unverified access, technical grades, seasonal restrictions and conditions sources remain explicitly open. We do not infer a route from a summit coordinate, label missing ascent records as unclimbed or mark every imported record as researched.

Corrections and source questions

Use the contact information in our Impressum and include the profile URL, the statement to correct and a direct source. Each build produces a coverage report recording which content fields are present and which checks remain open.
