Route questions, answered

Specific planning questions, with the scope of each source kept visible.

Does reaching Point Lenana mean reaching Mount Kenya's highest summit?

No. KWS lists Point Lenana at 4,984 m, Nelion at 5,188 m and Batian at 5,199 m. The summit objectives remain separate.

Kenya Wildlife Service · Mount Kenya National Park

Is the Lenana outing equivalent to a Batian or Nelion climb?

No. The cited operator itinerary treats Lenana separately from technical climbing on the higher peaks; it is not proof of equivalent difficulty.

Adventure Consultants · Mount Kenya trip notes (2024)

Does the ten-day programme describe continuous climbing?

No. The 2024 trip notes include travel, approach, acclimatization, climbing, contingency and return. Current arrangements require a new check.

Use the linked sources as starting points; summit coordinates do not describe a climbing route or public access.
