Route questions, answered
Specific planning questions, with the scope of each source kept visible.
How long does the Dom normal ascent take?
SAC lists 6–7 hours from Domhütte to the summit, then 4 hours back to the hut. Continuing to Randa adds a separate 3-hour descent.
Why do older Dom descriptions give an easier grade?
The detailed SAC page describes changed rock terrain at Festijoch following glacier retreat. It publishes WS+ / 3a; older listings should not replace that updated passage assessment.

Planning at a glance
Access and starting point
The normal route starts at Domhütte. SAC separately gives 4 hours back to the hut and another 3 hours to Randa.
Difficulty and required experience
Glacier retreat has altered the Festijoch rock passage. The revised listing gives WS+ / 3a, rather than relying on older easier descriptions.
Season and restrictions

Research still needed
For Dom, this atlas does not yet document first-ascent history; checked seasonal restrictions. Missing first-ascent evidence does not mean a mountain is unclimbed.
